Perspective is everything. Towers and skyscrapers look like fancy needles. Magnificent monuments can look like miniatures. Long and wide rivers look like small streams from the sky. Large lakes look like small ponds from mountaintops.
From afar and from on high, entire cities look like small miniature models of human dwelling. And the people who dwell in them become microscopic and too small to pinpoint.
Those same people you quarrel with each day. Those people who distract your personal tasks and goals. Those people who, sometimes, keep us worried, confused, or suspicious.
From afar and from on high, they are but small tiny negligible spots on the earth.
Never let them get in the way of your goals, dreams, and happiness.
There are people we meet are grow quite fond of after a while. Yet, sometimes after that while, the fondness we end up feeling toward them is not reciprocated or mirrored back, and yet we still feel that there, for some unclear reason we should continue to spend time reaching out to them.
It is a simple rule: Spend time and energy for those who prove to be willing to spend the same for you. Never spend a minute provide another favor of some sort for someone who has never shown the decency to spend a moment with you.
With that said, those who do prove to be trustworthy, reliable, and loyal deserve much of your time and effort to keep building a true and lasting relationship.
And when someone does show loyalty and trustworthiness, cherish that person well. Leaving them to the world is tantamount to throwing a diamond in the sea.
