Perspective is everything. Towers and skyscrapers look like fancy needles. Magnificent monuments can look like miniatures. Long and wide rivers look like small streams from the sky. Large lakes look like small ponds from mountaintops.
From afar and from on high, entire cities look like small miniature models of human dwelling. And the people who dwell in them become microscopic and too small to pinpoint.
Those same people you quarrel with each day. Those people who distract your personal tasks and goals. Those people who, sometimes, keep us worried, confused, or suspicious.
From afar and from on high, they are but small tiny negligible spots on the earth.
Never let them get in the way of your goals, dreams, and happiness.
On a hunt, a predator’s only focus is its prey. Nothing can steer its focus away from the target. Its life depends on that, and nothing will ever veer its eyesight or attention on anything, except for a larger predator.
Missions and goals in life are our prey; our target. And distractions are like birds fluttering around and pests trying to irritate us.
If you allow yourself to be distracted once, that prey – that goal or mission – can flee several miles away from you. Stay focused.
And should you ever be distracted, get back to tracking that prey down and go get it.
